Basic Policy on Purchasing

As a good business partner with all its business associates, JFE Plastic Resource Corporation (hereinafter, the Company) conducts its purchasing activities in a fair and sincere manner under the following Basic Policy on Purchasing, based on a relationship of mutual understanding and trust.

1.Comprehensive Observance of Compliance
Recognizing that compliance is the basis of purchasing activities, the Company conducts its business activities with sincerity, observing all applicable laws, regulations, and social norms, and implements complete control of all information obtained from business associates.
Furthermore, the Company categorically refuses all relationships with antisocial elements and groups that threaten the order and safety of civil society, and does not respond to illegal or improper requests.
2.Equal Opportunity for Competition
With a view to the wider world, the company provides equal opportunities to all competitive suppliers, both inside and outside of Japan.
3.Partnership
The Company is committed to mutual development as a business partner with its suppliers, based on efforts to maintain and improve mutual understanding and a relationship of trust.
4.Selection of Suppliers
In the selection of suppliers, the Company comprehensively considers quality, technology, price, ability to meet delivery schedules, stable supply capability, reliability, management stability, and the stance of efforts in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, and makes judgments based on economic rationality, premised on complete implementation of appropriate quality control and quality assurance at all times.
5.Harmony with the Global Environment through Green Procurement
The Company gives full consideration to resource protection/environmental protection in its purchasing transactions.
6.Promotion of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Procurement
The Company is committed to CSR procurement through CSR efforts in its entire supply chain, including suppliers related to its business activities, and also endeavors to prevent improper behavior in quality management.

To All Suppliers: Guidelines for CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Procurement

The Company defines CSR as “enhancing stakeholder satisfaction and increasing corporate value.” Accordingly, the Company positions environmental protection, safety, disaster prevention, and compliance as the highest priority issues for the foundations of corporate survival.
The Company wishes to promote efforts related to CSR in its entire supply chain based on a shared sense of social responsibility with all suppliers as business partners. To this end, we request the understanding and active cooperation of all business partners in the following matters.

(1)Creation of system for promoting CSR
All business partners are asked to implement a CSR promotion system and make efforts to ensure understanding of CSR within their companies, with the aims of ensuring complete compliance and instilling corporate ethics.
(2)Compliance and information management
All business partners are asked to respond appropriately to the following items.
① Observance of national and local laws and ordinances and social norms by all business partners when conducting business activities.
② Refusal of all relationships with antisocial elements and groups that threaten the order and safety of civil society.
③ Observance of laws, ordinances, etc. in connection with responsible mineral procurement, and avoidance of the use of conflict minerals.
④ Implementation and operation of a system for appropriately managing and protecting confidential information obtained through business transactions.
(3)Consideration of human rights and labor safety and hygiene
In business activities, business partners are asked to respect basic human rights (including elimination of all child labor, forced labor, human trafficking, and inhumane acts), and furthermore, eliminate all forms of discrimination, and endeavor to realize a pleasant workplace environment which considers safety and health.
(4)Consideration of the global environment by green procurement
Business partners are asked to continuously promote business activities in harmony with the environment, giving full consideration to resource protection and environmental conservation, and to implement exhaustive control of chemical substances related to products, packaging, etc. in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
(5)Supply of safe, competitive products and services
In supplying products and services, business partners are asked to always secure safety and provide a stable supply with competitive quality, price, and delivery, and promote continuous technical development and improvement of technological capabilities in order to maintain and improve the above.
(6)Prevention of improper behavior in quality management
Business partners are asked to promote efforts to prevent the occurrence of improper behavior related to product quality, such as falsification and fabrication of inspection results, contract violations, and the like. In case of changes that may affect the quality of products of JFE Plastic Resource Corporation, please notify the Company in advance and thoroughly implement proper quality control and quality assurance at all times.
(7)Response to compliance violations
In the unlikely event that a compliance violation occurs in the business activities of a business partner, please immediately report the matter to the Company. The report should include the results of the investigation of the cause of the violation and the measures taken to prevent recurrence.

Declaration of Harassment Prevention

Harassment in the workplace is a socially unacceptable act that wrongfully injures the victim’s dignity as an individual employee and also prevents employees from effectively demonstrating their capabilities. It is also a problem that affects the Company, as it hinders workplace discipline and the execution of business, and may damage the Company’s reputation in society.
The Company considers ensuring a healthy, harassment-free workplace environment to be a corporate responsibility, and accordingly establishes the following Basic Policy on Harassment.

1.The Company declares that it will not tolerate the following acts of harassment.
(1)Acts that constitute power harassment
Acts that negatively affect the working environment by causing physical or mental suffering to the person affected and surrounding persons by actions that violate the character or dignity of that person, against the background of differences in power, such as professional position or authority due to differences in the hierarchical relationship or the type of employment in the workplace.
(2)Acts that constitute sexual harassment
Acts in which an employer imposes disadvantageous working conditions on an employee due to the response of that employee to sexual language or behavior by the employer in the workplace, or acts in which the working environment of the employee is harmed by the said sexual language or behavior.
(3)Acts of harassment related to pregnancy, childbirth, childrearing, and nursing care
Acts in which the working environment of female employees who become pregnant or give birth and male employees who apply for and receive childcare leave, etc. is harmed by language or behavior (language or behavior related to pregnancy/childbirth or use of childcare leave, etc.) by superiors or colleagues in the workplace.
(4)Other forms of harassment
2.This basic policy is applicable to all persons working in the company, including regular employees, non-regular (shokutaku) employees, contract employees, part-time employees, dispatched employees and others.
3.Consultation concerning power harassment
The Company establishes an internal reporting system and provides support to resolve complaints by employees. Persons who file complaints and persons who cooperate in confirming the facts will not be treated disadvantageously.
4.Handling of persons committing acts of power harassment
Persons who commit acts of power harassment will be strictly disciplined in accordance with employment rules based on an investigation of the facts. The Company will also take the necessary actions to improve the working conditions and working environment of persons subjected to power harassment, including reassignment of persons who commit power harassment, etc.
